Modest Mouse and “Satellite Skin”. of Montreal and “Id Engager”: Figured I’d toss out an assortment, hopefully one will fit your tastes… Hope everyone is having a great Mother’s Day weekend and I really hope you’re enjoying this beautiful weather we’re having — I know I am. Hill of Beans and “Satan, Lend Me a Dollar”
In light of tonight’s concert at the Morrison Center; Cold War Kids and “Something is Not Right With Me”. Dengue Fever and “One Thousand Tears of a Tarantula”: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and their hauntingly beautiful “Goodbye To Mother and the Cove”. Also, check out this pretty awesome rendition of “Stand By Me”. The Heartless Bastards and “The Mountain”. I just got their new album The Mountain earlier this week, it’s a really kick ass joint — you should check it out. Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band “I Don’t Want to Die (in a hospital)”. I sentiment I happen to share. Modest Mouse, one of the best bands out there right now, debuted this new track on Letterman earlier this week. It’s called “Satellite Skin”. The Pogues and “If I Should Fall from Grace with God”. As an added bonus check out this clip from HBO’s “The Wire” where you can hear The Pogues track “The Body of an American” in the background, there is some NSFW language, so make sure you have those headphones on. Boise’s own The Very Most and “Good Fight Fighting”. Found out last night that one of my favorite bands of all time, The Eels are releasing a new album. I also found out this morning that Wilco is releasing a new album in June. In addition to that, the first weekend in June is the Mountain Brewers’ Beer Fest (pics from last year) in Idaho Falls, and there are also rumors floating around about a beer festival in Boise on Father’s Day weekend. This being in addition to the Old Boise Brewer’s Festival which is also rumored to return this year. In addition to all of that, it’s June, so that means there will be plenty of camping and plenty of BBQ’ing in the woods. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah performing on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon this past Wednesday night. A band I’d love to see come to Boise.
Always a good tune… The Shins and “New Slang”. |
