Saturday morning we went out to grab most of the starts for our garden, luckily for us one of the best greenhouses in the Valley is only about 2 miles away.

Canyon Bounty Farms has a very impressive array of tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, eggplants, herbs and all kinds of peppers. Everything is organic, well taken care of and most importantly, local. Really an awesome place. If you’re in Canyon County and have a garden you really have to check them out.

I’m really starting to dig this place — really a great place to eat at in Downtown Nampa.

On the recommendation of Clayton Borah I picked up the Ba-Da-Bing! this time around; plus, it was a little chilly outside so I figured a warm lunch would do me some good before heading to the library. The Ba-Da-Bing! is turkey, ham, pastrami and provolone cheese, after it is sent through the oven it becomes a salty, gooey and crunchy concoction that is very enjoyable to eat. There isn’t a lot to this sandwich, but it is very good.
It did seem that the pizza slices are quite a bit larger from the last time I was there — I’d say $2.50 for a quarter a pie is a pretty good deal. The next time I’m down there I’ll definitely do the pizza (yeah, I said that last time too), sitting there in the deli case it looks really good.
Cost-wise I will say it is on the higher end for a lunch sandwich, for the Ba-Da-Bing!, a vegetarian sandwich and two bottled iced teas it was just under 20 bucks. With sides you’d be at 25-26 bucks, at that point I’d be asking myself why I’m not at Brick 29 enjoying a B.L.A.T and a good draft brew.
All in all, I do like this place, if they managed to stock a few good brews, or had refillable iced tea I could really see hanging out on their patio for some time; they defiantly have the best patio space in Downtown Nampa.

Similar to this sausage that I made a while back using this recipe. The method is the same but I substituted black beans for kidney beans and changed up the spices, most importantly adding 4 chipotles — I also used some lime cream cheese on the bun.

These bean sausages are really quite good if you can get over their uncanny resemblance to a Snickers bar floating in a public pool. Also, for about a-buck-80 in ingredients you get 8 delicious sausages.
I love St. Patrick’s Day.

Making some potatoes aioli for a party tomorrow. Today they get grilled with some smoked paprika olive oil, tomorrow they get their dressing.

Good stuff.
Made these last night… lunch today. Served with Tim’s Sea Salt & Vinegar chips, the best potato chip ever.

I’ll be making this again, if not for the simple fact that the possibilities are endless, I’m already thinking about a black bean chipotle sausage with cilantro in it.

Huge news for the Treasure Valley, and more importantly for Nampa. Thinking recently, I can’t name another chef in the area who has done as much as Chef Dustin Bristol has in as little time.
Great Idaho wine and beers and amazing locally sourced grub.
Brick 29
Sunday breakfast with some friends at a Nampa institution.

Not the healthiest grub on the planet, but always good.

Good stuff. Not my favorite Mexi-style grub in the Nampa, but pretty good. The brews were great and the service was top notch. And yeah, they have both the lager and the amber Dos Equis on tap.
That being said, the camerones especiale was pretty rockin’. I’d get it again. And perhaps again, and maybe again after that.
