Yeah, about those animal cruelty laws

This is just beyond sick.

Caldwell cat found with arrow through head gets help from clinic, rescue group

A female tabby that has understandably named “Arrow” awaits surgery at WestVet in Garden City after being found with an arrow stuck through the cat’s left eye and out the back of its skull.

A cat found in Caldwell with an arrow through its head was likely the victim of an act of cruelty, according to the director of a cat rescue group that plans to help the cat recover and find a new home.

The cat will undergo surgery Wednesday afternoon at WestVet Emergency & Specialty Center in Garden City to have the arrow removed. It’s lodged in one of the cat’s eyes and sticking out the back of its head.

“This was not an accident,” said Sheri Schneider, executive director of Simply Cats in West Boise. “I think this cat had to have been held down. This person was a great shot to get it right through the eye. Either the cat was held down or tied down, is my personal feeling.”

Remember, Idaho is one of the 5 worst states in the union for animal anti-cruelty laws.

At least the cat was taken to WestVet, she couldn’t be in better hands. While we normally do all of our cat dr-in’ at Kindness in Nampa, WestVet has been instrumental in saving the lives of two of our cats.
