The Treasure Valley:
- Sadly, Downtown Nampa’s Market Limone has closed up shop. It was a really great place while it lasted, one my wife and I enjoyed frequently. I guess this means no more bottomless Pimm’s Cups on the sidewalk during the summer.

- Idaho Press Tribune story on the closing of the the Market. Market Limone was also my source for Boise’s Le Cafe De Paris breads, I’ll really miss having their stuff in Nampa.
- Vickie Holbrook: Why did Market Limone story make Page 1?
- City takes applications for Brush-Up Nampa.
- BSU: ‘How many years…before we get a chance?’ Hey, I like the Broncos as much as the next Treasure Valley non-Vandal, but let’s face it, the Broncos don’t exactly play that many tough teams.
- Meridian students, parents protest teacher’s absence with a sit-in. This story is becoming a great learning experience in civil disobedience and 1st Amendment rights for the kids.

- Live in Mountain Home or willing to relocate? Got $250,000 sittin’ around? Well, this is for you then.
- Don’t want to move to Mountain Home (I hear yas), well, what about Emida?
- Millions set aside for rehabilitating foreclosed homes in Canyon County. Good thing too, Canyon County is going to need it. I will say that there were 3 foreclosures in my subdivision, two have just been moved into to in the last month. Hopefully a good sign.
- David Wells, a longtime BSU band director, has died. I met Mr. Wells once, really a great guy who did a lot for a lot of people.

Idaho politics:
- Probably one of the best reads to date on what is behind the clash between the Governor and the House and it ain’t gas taxes.
- Here is a great piece from John Miller on the back story as well.
- Guv: ‘We’ll be here ‘til it’s resolved’.
- Nonini: ‘Not going to put up with that’. Not only does Bob Nonini have no business chairing the House Education Committee it sounds like he has no business even being in Idaho’s Legislature.
- Randy Stapilus: The Great Nonini.
- Kent Marmon: Idaho has plenty of money for roads already. lol, it’s a media conspiracy with the Guv. I love Libertarians, bless their little hearts, they’re in the right place, but sometimes the mind just doesn’t follow.
- Speaking of Libertarians: Libertarians can restore America to its constitutional principles.
- According to Bryan Fischer it’s all about genitals!
- Boise teabaggers: “Spreading the wealth = thieft”. What’s that about them being “left behind” again?

- IdaBlue: Republican standoff.

- Beer, what’s it all about anyway? Great read if you’re a beer drinker — sometimes the only thing that matters is how it makes you feel.
- Going Green For Beer: Poor Mass Transit In The US Makes Alcohol More Dangerous. I love being in cities where there is mass transit, makes imbibing around town much more safer. I loved South Korea because it was all buses, subways and taxis, it made going out easy and made it easy and provided a means to safely get home.

Chris, lets make a turbaconducken but deep fry it instead of cooking it in the oven, lol!
Lordy no, you may have to count me out of that one!
Well Chris, I'm very saddened by that loss. I'm so very happy you arranged for the liberal bloggers to visit Market Limone on our last meetup. Your praises led to high expectations and it did not disappoint, until now of course. I had high hopes for your hometown with its addition. While you still have plenty o' things to inspire optimism, Market Limone had a distinct sense of place and I hope downtown Nampa can establish a worthy substitute. It gave something I never had before, a reason to stop in Nampa.
Really wishing Market Limone would have been open the day I was in Nampa. Darn it.
Market Limone certainly had the potential to be great, but always seemed to be changing gears before any kind of concept had time to run it's course or fully develop. That most people were never made aware of the fact that they could walk in and enjoy a beer, cocktail, or glass of wine on the premisis is what always gave me the sneeking suspicion that the Market would never live up to its potential. It is a great space though so hopefully someone will be able to make something work there in the future.
