Chris, I would like to point out the Vandals had one of their players drafted… Woot!

  • That is very true.

Ian not getting drafted didn't really surprise me at all, especially with his lack of production last season. Childs should have stayed another year, he probably would have gotten drafted.

  • Zoiks, earthquake in Mexico City. Things are starting to look biblical.

  • lol, I saw that this morning. How long will it take for people to jump on that meme?

  • Does this surprise you?

“conservatives were more likely to report that Colbert only pretends to be joking and genuinely meant what he said while liberals were more likely to report that Colbert used satire and was not serious when offering political statements. Conservatism also significantly predicted perceptions that Colbert disliked liberalism.”

  • One fun thing about living 'round these parts is how sanctimonious some folks can be about an appropriately placed F Bomb, or - as was the case here - another word for Scat. There are times when decorum not only justifies it; but demands it.

It is not necessarily a 911 event! Au contraire confrere.

Calling Bull Hooey when Bull Hooey is what's being peddled is nothing short of stand up and commendable.

I humbly suggest that Mr Ledgard's NPR interview [ http://citydesk.boiseweekly.com/2009/04/uncle-b... ] regarding the subject is worth your 7+ minutes.

Dawson's Coffee is not only a local roaster and purveyor of fine coffee; but of good will, cheer and superlative customer service.

  • What I find amusing is that this is just another great case of a blogger (you) breaking a story and the local media quickly jumps on the bandwagon once they realize it'll get some clicky-play, and of course, the only outlet to acknowledge that it came from a blogger was the best media outlet, the Boise Weekly.

For all the complaining and griping journalists have about bloggers they sure love to use us as a springboard for a story.

This is retarded. I went to the Buy Idaho site and they say they want to promote Idaho services and products to be your first choice. If you regard going to get your coffee fix a service then it seems to me both places you would be buying Idaho. If you consider it a product, then you aren't buying Idaho from either business because coffee isn't grown in Idaho. This is a case of everyone making a big deal about nothing and The Dawson Taylor owner being butt-hurt about not getting as much business as he would like.

Lets just stick to the reality that locals can't always provide the service and products consumers prefer.

  • Hmm, I'm torn on this.

Yeah, a consumer shouldn't have to buy local, they are certainly free to shop anywhere they please, the Governor? That's a different story, he's the head honcho of the state, the new spokesman for Buy Idaho, even if he doesn't prefer it, he should buck up and buy a more local product.

Sometimes there are pitfalls to being the leader, you do things you don't want to, and for Otter it seems to be buying coffee he doesn't enjoy.

  • Dave actually knows Thomas Hammer from his days in Seattle, and they view each other as friendly competition.

His confrontation with Butch had nothing to do with Mr Hammer or his shop(s), and everything to do with calling BS on a politician who preaches one thing to the masses and does another.
