I gotta say; I had this some time ago and didn’t quite dig it, but I need something with “summer” in the title to finish out the week.

To me it tasted like a watered down wheat brew with some Crystal Light-ish lemonade in the background. There just isn’t much to this beer, some yeast, some subdued malts, a little bit sweet and lemon. There is a lot of carbonation that provided for an interesting mouthfeel, the beer poured with a good two inch head that stuck around for a few minutes, but that was it’s only redeeming quality — for me at least.
I can see why some people dig this one in the summertime; and I guess there isn’t anything wrong with that, but it’s just not the beer for me. I’d rather have a good hefeweizen with a real lemon in it.

Funny you should post this, I saw it at the store tonight and passed it by. I tried it last summer, and was actually surprised at how “good” it was. My surprise was because I figured it was going to be crap. A friend in England would drink shandy's periodically, and over there it was literally lager and lemonade. Like you coined it, drinkable…but not one to run to. A hefe is the ultimate summer drink…and maybe a Red Stripe!
How I drink this beer: Put in the freezer. Mow the lawn (45 minutes approx.). Pound it in under three minutes.
Otherwise, I usually avoid it.
LOL…not a bad routine!
That's what a lot of people said on the Beer Advocate page too. I can handle it, but there just wasn't much there for me.
I dig a Red Stripe every now and again, my goto yard work beer is Dos Equis though, I love that stuff.
That's one way to do it!
That doesn't even look appealing.
Dos Equis is a good substitute for water when gardening but a little weak in flavor for me. There are some really good Mexican beers you might want to consider instead but iIf you want an excellent beer from a major Hispanic brewer try a San Miguel from the Philippines instead.
