Personally, I think that this was a good choice — intelligent, pragmatic and most importantly, a moderate.
There should be a caveat however, and that is there needs to be clear and full disclosure about Skip’s lobbying interests in the Idaho legislature.
100% agreed. We've discussed this before, and while Smyser is a moderate pick, her husband's interests underline and scream "big fish in a little pond." I am sure they are nice folks. I can't say I have a personal issue; however, I don't want the football coach's wife running a sports book in Vegas.

Unfortunately, that's how ball has been played in Idaho politics for far too long. With the Smysers there is an "exposed" connection and that makes it easier to call out any "tit-for-tat" if it does ever occur.
